Guide to: Autumn

Hello everyone. as you all know Autumn is approaching, meaning; candles, cuddly pj's and big hot chocolates. Which of course is a glorious season, one that personally I love, ALOT. I've decided to come up with a little series on my blog which will take place over the next few weeks, where I will be giving advice and tips along with my favourite things to do or wear in the Autumn. For example this post is Autumn make-up although I will post a whole face of the day as well soon. In this series I will go through many different topics like; skincare, fashion , outings and a lot more. so I hope that you enjoy this even if you are gripping on to the very last inklings of summer.

Top to bottom : Calvin Klein 'Orange Too'
Avroy Shilain 'Mulled Wine' - Click to see a post where I used this
Revlon: Spice it up
Rimmel scandal eyes waterproof eyeliner in bronze along with the benefit 'Fake up' concealer
So in the colder months I have to unfortunately let go of all my beautiful bright nail polish and coral lips and cheeks and kind of tone down the summer glow 'Bronzed Goddess' look although I still love the Rimmel eyeliner in bronze, just a little on the waterline or smudged into the lash line- I think looks gorgeous. Its also socially more acceptable to have darker lips which to be honest I do not like the full opaque dark lip look as I'm still in school I shear my lip colours out and slap on some lip balm and I'm good to go. Even though I think orange lips all year round is great, its perfect for Halloween. The benefit fake up concealer is really great during the colder months as its really moisturising as you can see the balmy moisturiser around the outskirts of the concealer- I only have a mini one but I will defiantly be purchasing a full sized one soon. I have very combination skin which tends too change a lot depending on the weather and in winter it gets dry so this concealers great for under the eyes around the nose and on the chin. I love the natural look, and trying to look as natural as possible so in the winter time I go for pinky blushers as it looks like you have just been outside and have come in from the cold, I would advise not going to overboard though as you may look like you've had a very sweaty run. I also have the bene-tint which is a super natural multi-purpose tint which looks so pretty as its a rose tone, a tone that most people blush. Last but not least, one of the staples of winter beauty is lip balm I love the Maybelline one in 'Cherry me' as its super sheer and perfect for school.
Thank you for reading, here I will leave you with a few pictures of the products mentioned.
Headline colours in 'Gunmetal' -Only on one finger as I was taking pictures all on one day and... I'm lazy :)
Left to right : Natural Collection powder blush in 'Sweet Cheeks' , Benefit 'Bene-tint' , Maybelline babylips in 'Cherry me'

Worth the splurge?

Bad photography skills here, opps.

This pallet is absolutely gorgeous and a staple of mine recently. I purchased this a very long time ago (sorry) and forgot how beautiful it is. I think its the perfect 'all year round everyday pallet' - That suits so many different eye colours and skin tones. Personally I haven't used all the colours, like the blue or green because honestly I am scared of bright vibrant colours. I think this was limited edition to Estee Lauder although you can buy these some of these shades individually at the counter! So if you're not into bright colours like me you don't have to get them. Do you think this pallet is worth the price tag? Hmm I don't know, the pigmentation is beautiful although brands much cheaper do similar shades just -£30.  If you are in the market for something like this and you have the budget I would definitely recommend Estee Lauder Eye shadows.
Hope everyone is having a great summer- I will be back with more posts! :)

Benifit Bombshell

Hello everyone, its been a while and I am very sorry but I have finished the majority of my exams so I will be posting more and of course as I've almost finished I have more time for shopping! So I went to the benefit counter recently and decided to pick up a few bits and pieces to try out, so I hope you enjoy. :)

Over the spring season I tried  out Benefits miniature skincare set , I really did love some of the products and wanted to give them a go but the other day I had a wonderful facial by benefit from one of the girls in Milton Keynes John Lewis upstairs in the Beauty Retreat. The lady started by talking me through some of their products and some from their new range,  I admit that I was very tempted by a lot of the products but I quite like my skincare routine at the moment and  new exfoliator so I decided to get the Refined Finish facial polish which I do really like and it is not too harsh on my sensitive skin.

I have tried samples of the Porefessional in the past and really enjoyed it so I picked up one because I feel like it really helps your make up glide on and hide your pores! I would highly recommend this!
The big easy was something I was very curious about as everyone is talking about it and as it is coming up to summer this would be perfect and light, it leaves a gorgeous light satin finish and It hides most of my redness.

As the BB cream is very light I need something to cover up my blemishes, this is nice as it is industrial strength but its not too drying and covers imperfections perfectly!

Finally an old classic! The Coralista ,now I have used this in the past but I never owned my own one and I think it looks really beautiful with my skin tone and a great colour for summer!

I hope you enjoyed my little haul and if you have any summer makeup/ skincare recommendation's please let me know!
See you all soon!
:)

Dealing with Anxiety and Depression

I feel like sometimes we forget about everything that is truly beautiful in the world, yes people are and so are animals and landscapes along with plants and sunsets. all the cool artistic photos you see on Tumblr and the delicious food you see on Instagram. That is all great, but we forget that we where put on this planet to embrace life, go outside explore and see what life has to offer. You may be thinking where is she going with this? The truth is that I've been gone quite sometime as you may know. I had started struggling with mild anxiety since I was very young, people said that it must be asthma or me making a fuss, of course it wasn't. It gradually got worse and worse as I got older until it got to a point where I had a panic attack five days in one week. It lead me to feel embarrassed and self conscious a lot of the time so I eventually stopped going out and doing things. I then experienced depression, I didn't want to go see my friends and I only went to school because I had too. My weekends where filled with sitting in my room on my own, maybe on my phone or something along those lines. I had always had this dream of being an inspiration to people and making people smile even if its just for a minute, that's what I wanted to do.

And no I haven't yet uploaded any videos to my vine account or made my YouTube channel because depression is one of those things that kind of cave you into a deep dark hole and it feels like there is no one there to help you. I didn't leave my house unless I absolutely had to for at least four- five months, and only recently have I realised the more time I spend doing nothing and sitting around the less time I can embrace the wonderful sights and experiences there are in life. I will never get the time back that I wasted but I wanted to help those of you who may be going through something similar or knows someone who may be going through this

If you are going through something like this it is hardtop recognise yourself but even if you are feeling down or upset try and do something that you like, it doesn't have to be with friends or family if you want to be alone, maybe go outside for a walk by yourself bare faced and natural, let your skin breath in the open air. I live next to a lake so I walk around that, if you cant leave the house without make up put a little bit of concealer and maybe a few swipes of mascara. Take big deep breaths as you walk around and listen to the birds or listen to some calming music or your favourite music what ever make you feel good. Just think about your dreams and aspirations maybe take a notebook and pen and just write down your ideas and dreams who you want to be and what you want to do. Obviously if you are still quite young ask your parents if you can go take a walk or maybe walk your dog. If you like interacting with people when you are upset ask one of your best friends and best friends only to go have a picnic or go and enjoy a day in the sun. I would avoid shopping as you feel like nothing would look nice on you or you feel gross and not pretty. Enjoy spending time with your friends and take silly pictures and that way you are supposed to look bad. Don't obsess over your appearance because you are still as beautiful as you where last week, month or year ago. The more you worry the more self conscious you get and the less you will want to get out. If you talk about your feelings a lot talk to someone you can trust and just let it all out cry if you need to just remember its about you and what you want.

If you know someone going through something like this spotting it is the first step. If they have gone through a tough break up or struggle with anxiety, maybe are self conscious you can normally see the change as they wont want to do stuff with you even if its seeing a movie. You must not force them to do anything as they will just feel worse and will want to leave or spend less time with you in the long run. Suggest things to do that are not too active but also requires a little bit of movement so that they don't get board. It needs to be light so that they can drift in and out of there thoughts. When asking your friend/daughter/son/brother/sister/mother/father etc. to do something it is important to say something along the lines of
" Do you want to go out to lunch with me, if you don't want to we don't have to go we can do something else".
Make sure you are not being intimidating or pushy.
If you are going through this or know someone who is I hope this  helped even a little, if you need to talk I'm here
See you later
:)
